click-wheel iPod won't mount on one computer

Hi - I am helping a friend - she got a new 20gb Click wheel iPod for Christmas (2004). It She has an iBook G3 600mhz with 384 mb RAM running OS 10.2.8 with all updates - including iTunes and iPod drivers. Her iPod initially mounted on her computer but after several times, will not. It WILL mount fine on my Powerbook G4 running 10.3.7. My iPod (a 20gig, generation before click-wheel) mounts fine on HER computer. Her iPod shows up on the firewire bus in the System Profiler, but nowhere else. We have tried resetting her iPod, re-installing iTunes and Apple's other suggestions. I have also tried an external firewire drive on the Firewire port - works fine..... ANy help would be greatly appreciated!
