Putting protected music onto iPod

I have some downloaded itune music and want to put it on my brothers 2003 10gb iPod but for some reason, itunes will not allow this. It appears that the music is protected. Does anyone know how I get my music on the ipod? I have a 2001/2002 ipod. Please note we both share the same computer.

Make sure you both have the latest iPod software (i.e., firmware) installed on your iPods. If you need to update the iPod software, you can download the latest version here:
