Can some1 explain the prices to me?

Im looking to buy an ipod but i need to know prices. Ive tryed looking them up but i get confused when a 20G costs barely $30 less than a 40G. And why is a 10G almost the same price as the 20G.
Im looking at thse classifieds and why are used iPODs being sold for nearly retail price?

I think these are worth whatever people will pay for them.
Some people are desperate to sell them and others are not.
Most things do not hold value as the Ipod seems to,good if you are selling,frustrating if you are buying.
Add that to buying from the unknown and it can be some excercise in patience.

I simply think people buy things on impulse and figure out that they either cannot afford to really give up that kind of cash, or they simply don't use it like they thought they would. Therefore, they are trying not to take too much of a loss on it.

I know I bought a $2100 laptop which was to be used on a desktop for 1 year. I needed the space as I'd have no real desk. The plan sort of did not work out so I sold the laptop and lost $200 from what I spent. I think the ipods are a lot like that.
