Saturday I traded in my 2002 Jeep Liberty for a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. In the Jeep I used a cassette adapter, but alas the ragtop only has a CD player.

I ordered a P.I.E. attachment for the back of the head unit, and found a local car mod shop who will install it for me (If I did it, it would be bad for everyone :) )

I will keep you posted on how it goes once I have it installed.

I installed the PIE converter myself this morning. The Ipod works great thru the factory head unit. Wonderful sound quality-took me 10 minutes to install.

Where did you get your PIE converter?

I got the PIE converter from Logjam electronics:

Hey is this (http://store.yahoo.com/logjam/piechry03pcalp.html) the PIE converter that you used? I have a 2003 Sebring Sedan and believe that I would use the same converter. Also, did you have to purchase any other cables, and was it complicated to take the head unit out. Thanks

That looks like the one I used. You will note that my original poet is quite old now....

In the interim there was an electrical problem with the car (warranty issue) so I removed the unit to prevent issues as to whether they were caused by the install or a manufacturing defect with the car.

It was easy to remove the head unit (took me 3 minutes). As for cabling I used the monster cable.

oh wow didnt even notice the year, i was thinking 8-25-04. Thanks for the quick response, did you end up putting it back on after the electrical problem was fixed or have you not used it since?

I have not used it since, but I will. You see most of my driving is done in a company car. The ragtop is just a toy.

Interesting to look at this old thread. I have been having a problem in which 3 car batteries died and Chrysler could not find any problem after taking the car in on 3 different occasions. Finally gonna pull the converter out and let the car sit for a few days before making the final call to Chrysler HQ.

Once I pulled the PIE converter out I never had another problem. The ragtop is now gone, traded on a new Maxima.

Pulled the PIE converter out last week but will need to let the car sit for 4 or 5 days before I know if that fixed it. Can't do that until july or august because of work. I assume that was probably the problem though.
