For sound, how would I connect the ipod to the speakers or wherever they go? I have one of those detachable face cd players, is there a plug that can possibly be used from the ipod to the plug outlet where the face plate would normally go?

aux input on the back of your head unit. Usually the cd changer input. Have to switch your cd player to AUX. check around in old posts. This topic has been mentioned 10000's of times, probably on your type of cd player alone.
