I live in the Uk and have an 02 plated Mini Cooper, i have a 3rd gen 30gb iPod and want to attach it to the car stereo. The head unit is the standard stereo that comes with the car but is a mini disc. I've read loads of threads on hooking the iPod to the cd changer port on the back of most car streos but i'm non the wiser please help, where I live no one in car shops knows what an iPod is and computer shops reccomend the cassette adapter only, not much use when it hasn't got a tape.

From what I have read of previous similar setups if your unit can accept addition of a CD changer you should be able to connect the iPod by using a mini jackplug to RCA plug adaptor lead. Or if your stereo has it (some do) a mini-jack socket may be available to you.

Looking at some setups with the G3 it appears you get a better signal if taking the line out from the dock port as opposed to the earphone out.

Have a look through some of the solutions posted to see if you can get any ideas.
