I tend to roam through these forums during classes and such, and in some topics I see the word: "podcast," being mentioned. I'm wondering what Podcasts are, it would be very much appreciated if someone could explain them to me, and where I can get them. The first thing that came to mind was a radio station... but then my mind whiplashed and wondered how this could be if the ipod didn't have an antenna or radio connection. I guess maybe it's recorded radio stations, but could someone PLEASE help me out, it would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

A podcast is a webcast that gets downloaded to your computer using a "podcatcher". The most popular podcatchers are iPodderX (for Mac) and iPodder (sometimes referred to as iPodder lemon, for Windows). You subscribe to a podcast in the same way you would subscribe to a RSS feed. The podcatcher downloads new podcasts to your computer and then they're put onto your mp3 player (it doesn't have to be an iPod but that's where the term came from). One of the geniuses behind podcasting is Adam Curry, one of the original MTV VJ's. You can get more information at http://www.ipodder.org/ . You can download iPodderX from http://www.ipodderx.com/ and iPodder lemon from http://ipodder.sourceforge.net/
