Hi
Basically want I want to do is this.
Rip my entire CD collection in Apple Lossless. This is becuase I want to use iTunes to play it on my Stereo and therefore I want top quality.
I also want access to the entire CD collection on my iPod. But It would be too big and I am not that bothered with the quality when on the go. So I want to convert that to mp3 at say 192.
I understand how I can do this in itunes. In that I import it at ALE, then convert down to the mp3 within iTunes. Well thats the way I have worked out so far (I am new to iTunes). (if there is a better way please say)
But the problem will be when I want to synch with my ipod or play via my speakers. How can I differentiate?
One way I have come up with is to create Smart Playlists that limit on Kind !contain Lossless for example. But that would mean have double the amount of playlists.
The other way I read on this forum was to have 2 users on the OS and switch between them. Again this isn't ideal. (pextra question - I am moving to Mac's from a windows machine in next few months - is switching users as easy as it is in XP?)
is anyone else doing similar? Any ideas on the best way for me to do this?
Thanks in advance
Paul
