Playlists with sub-categories, possible?

If this has been discussed before, my apologies in advance.

I would really like to develop some sub-categories within my playlists to cut down on the top menu clutter - just like on my computer. Like Classical - Opera - Italian -Rossini -Barber of Seville for example.

Is this possible on the iPod, if so how?

Nested playlists are not possible with iTunes. You can have playlists refer back to other playlists (using the "playlist is/is not" option), but that leads to more, not less playlists.
You can put a number or a dash in front of your favorite playlists, so they always appear at the top of your lists.
