Ultimate Ears Help

Hey gang...new to the forum section of the website and in the process of saving up for some Ultimate Ears U-5 personal earphones.....it's going to be a while until I am able to actually get them so I had a few questions for anyone who already owns them.....

1. Would it be advantageous to get my impressions now or wait until it's time to buy (six months)

2. Are there any sales that UE runs or any other companies that make personalized earphones?

No, don't get your impressions until you're ready to order. Supposedly the silicone shrinks a bit after a few months.

So far I've never heard of any of the custom IEM makers running sales. The prices seem pretty fixed. It's such a small market that it's probably not worth their while.
