Whenever I transfer music to my iPod that I've bought in the Real Music store, the songs transfer ok, but when I try to play them my mini just scrolls through the tracks without playing any.
I used to be able to transfer downloaded songs from Real Player but now I can't. I thought it may be a license problem, but my licenses are intact and the songs were bought and downloaded to the same pc that I'm transferrring the music from.
Anyone have a similar problem/solutioun?
Thanks!

Not surprisingly, Apple will use every point and major release of iPod updater to stay one step ahead of Harmony. Based only on empirical evidence, it seems the Nov 2004 (1.2) update inhibits Harmony from doing its thing (i.e., the Harmony created AAC files don't play on the iPod).
I went back to the Apr 2004 (1.1) version and the AAC files created from Real Audio files worked just fine again.
I'll just keep an eye on the Real website and when they announce certification w/ 1.2, I'll re-run the Nov 2004 updater.

Will the April 2004 (1.1) version work with the new iPod mini 6 gig?
Thanks,

No, unfortunately you can't go back to firmware version earlier than that the hardware shipped with. So even the "older" minis that shipped after the Nov 2004 update had been released don't have the option of "going back" to April 2004.
Darn, those Apple people are so smart.

I just installed my son's iPod for him. He is running Win98SE so I used the USB driver that someone posted on one of these boards. Everything worked fine. Since he can't use iTunes, I installed Real Player 10.5 and he was able to copy a CD to mp3 and play on his iPod. Haven't tried to convert to .aac yet. Will have to check it out. Hopefully Real Player will fix this.
Thanks for the input. I secretly am lusting after the new Pink iPod Mini, but after seeing his new 20G model I'm debating on that one.

Seems like people may have different experiences - probably slight variances in the versions. With the November update, I was able to use my iPod with Realplayer...BUT iTunes no longer could see the music on my iPod! Not a problem if you only use Realplayer, of course.

So I've been periodically checking Real for their new Harmony build and finally saw it today. They don't tell you exactly what's new in 6.0.12.1059 (it reads like a "security" patch ... hee hee) but after installing, AAC files transferred from RealPlayer to a Nov 2004 iPod and played without issue.
