Are these things any good? I like the idea of just snapping them on to the existing apple earphones.

I like them...... can be a bit bulky in the ear, but no more so than the Apple in-ear buds..... Compared to the stock ear-buds, they do increase the bass and of course since they are in ear, volume is much higher...... but to each his own..... One note....... Apple's ear buds are composed of two pieces glued together..... if you are not careful removing the Earjams, you can separate these two pieces....which is no big deal unless you snap the very thin connector wire between these two pieces.

Not worth it, invest in a good pair of in-ears.

Like Enjoilax, I would invest in some in-ears, such as the EX-71's or some Shures...

I have to agree with the above two posts. The earjams make the iPod earbuds actually sound worst, really muddy sound. The good thing about them is the fact they help keep the earbuds in your ear but that's about it. The Shures or Sony ex71's will work better for you and have better sound quality.

Just an FYI...these jams are on back order through the Griffin site.
I got an email about this two days ago.

EX-71's or some Shures.......
Ummmmm.... $15 vs. $50 to $100 to ....yeah, I would hope that the EX-71's or Shure's sound better than a $15 add-on. I have the EX-71's...... sound great, but the aysmetrical cord is so stupid that they stay in a drawer and don't get used.
....... and like I said, to each his own.......one person's good sound is another's awfull sound.

Earjams are not worth it. I agree that they just muddy everything up. If, like me, you've shelled out a fair amount on the Ipod, and are not willing to spend a lot more on the headphones try the Panasonic RP-HJE50s. Just got them. Clearer, w/ less bass than the Sony EX71s; so if you are a bass freak, not good for you. But, they seem to be as comfortable as the EX71s. I must confess, they feel like cheap plastic, very light weight. One warning: they aren't very loud; you will likely need to have the Ipod volume up to greater than halfway to enjoy sufficient volume.
But here's the best part: they are $16.50 USD at X10.com.
Good luck.
