Is it bad to wrap earphone cords around the ipod? If I bought the Shure e2c, should i always store the headphones in the case? I just don't see how this would ruin it.

Nor do I. I've always wrapped my headphones around the iPod, including my UE5c's. I've never had any problems. I hate the included Shure case. The idea of unplugging a headphone and wrapping it in that thing after each use is just preposterous to me. Plus, it really curls up the chords.

Hmm, maybe scratches? and for you kaufee, with a 600 dollar earphone, i find it very foolish. no offense. I would want my investment protected.

Oh, don't worry... it's protected inside the heavy metal case that UE gives you. The whole iPod fits in there with the phones wrapped around them. With my Shure phones, though, I just kept the whole thing in a little cloth bag. They're very durable phones and I didn't think a small amount of knocking around would damage them. I'd certainly put them through worse during actual usage.
