My way of keeping my Apple earbuds

This is what my freind came up with after i screwed up my Apple earbuds. I though I share it....

We all know that after a while the Apple earbuds split(weak point?) Anyways my freind who is an electrical student told me to go buy some "white Electric Tape" and reinforce it... i did it and since (6 month) i've still to see any sign of splitting and i use my Ipod every day.

You'll probably have black electric tape at home if u are into DIY but white completly blends with the wires and no one notices it untill they see it close.

what documentation do i need for the replacement method??

I brought it from Ebay but it's new.... and i got a copy of the transaction... is that enough?

theyre only earphones and dont cost much to make so they dont seem to be bothered with checking proof of purchase. They didnt ask me for anything when i replaced mine, but they sometimes ask to send in the old pair, to make sure people arent scamming them.
