iPod remote without earbuds??

I have recenntly purchased a pair of MDR-EX51SP's and the cord is extremely short. I was wondering if the remote thats available for ipods is sold without the earbuds, as i have bought these new earbuds because the Apple ones were no good. If so, whree can i purchase them from?

You can't buy a new remote without the earbuds, but many of the remotes for sale on eBay don't include them.

Yes; it uses the same standard headphone jack as the iPod unit itself.
