I'm looking to buy some headphones... (oldschool DJ style) Sony makes a coupla pair that seem pretty cool... so basically im asking you for your advice.
what do you guys think that the best pair would be?

You don't want the V500. Read this:

Go for the MDR-V6 instead. (Not V600)

well, what do you think about the V700DJs?

bangraman and dodgyguy seem to think they're pretty decent. i haven't spent much time with them, but i have heard them and i'd still take the V6 any day.

I'd say they're acceptable, not 'pretty decent'. Good for the iPod due to their bloated bass. There are definitely better phones, but these aren't as bad as some say.
I prefer the Sennheiser HD25-1 out of the iPod, but they are a little more than the V700DJ and admittedly not as cool looking.
