Hello all,
This is my first post so uh...please don't flame me. Thanks.

I've been through the cases section of this forum thoroughly, and I appreciate the people who've posted pictures of the PodPaq014. I think it's by far the nicest case I've seen, but at the same time, I haven't actually SEEN it...up close, that is. I really want to order one, but I was wondering if anyone knows what the dimensions are. I need it to fit into a particular pocket in a particular bag, and if it won't, then I'm afraid I'll have to get a different case or stick with the default apple wrap-around. From the look of it in the pictures I've seen, it appears to have a fairly pronounced lip that runs around the edge causing it to be a bit larger than the iPod itself. Any info (measurements or, if anyone is so kind, pictures) about this would be great. Please, feel free to post pictures of the case just for fun if you'd like. I enjoy looking at it. :) Thanks!

Sorry if this post is redundant, but I haven't seen anything in my searching (both online and in this forum) that matched what I was looking for.

Sure... why not. But only because I'm REALLY bored tonight.

First off... here are some new pics. (Sorry about the required login... this way I can maintain full size pics and not worry about my bandwidth).

http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4289353997 Click on the images for full size if you wish.

Next... Here are some dimensions.

Width = 2.750" (6.99cm)

Height (w/ Flap) = 4.500" (11.43cm)

Thickness (no Flap, no clip, no clip stub) = 1.000" (2.54cm)
Thickness (w/ Flap, no clip, no clip stub) = 1.200" (3.05cm)
Thickness (w/ Flap to back of clip) = 2.000" (5.08cm)

Hope this helps, and let me know if you need anything else.

WOW! That's really truly very cool of you to post all of this. I can't thank you enough. According to the measurements you've provided, it'll fit in the bag I've ordered. I'll be ordering a PodPaq tomorrow. I didn't even think anyone would respond. THANKS! :D

I received my Neoprene PodPaq yesterday and I'm really pleased with it. My iPod sits snugly inside it, and the cutouts match perfectly with the iPod controls. The belt clip seems to be of the new, improved variety, and overall the quality and finish are superb. Thoroughly recommended.

Does this mean that the clip stub is removable? or are you just not measuring all the way to the clip stub..

BEWARE! The fit is loose! My 3G 15GB fell to the ground twice when the belt clip swiveled and the case pointed downward. I didn't have the cover snapped on because the plug of my Grado headphones doesn't fit in the hole provided.

I then bought a Marware CEO Classic, and the snaps fell off in 3 weeks (no response to my email). Guess I just can't win....

Randy,

I just got my PodPaq that I purchased from someone in the forum. Mine is also pretty loose and the flap doesn't quite secure on the front. Maybe azdude can comment on whether it stretches out with use and becomes easier to close and "snap".

I do think they should have put the swivel button higher on the case to keep the center of gravity from flipping the case upside down.

Regardless, I really like this case. My iPod has falled a couple times. I'm going to get a silicone sleeve from Lajo (hey, you can't turn down a cheap deal like 2 for 1) and see if that will make the fit any snugger. If not, I have three case options.

I have found the case to be a bit loose, yes. It seems to have been intended for the 30/40 giggers.

However, I always listen & travel with the flip on, so it doesn't bother me.

About the flip being not secure in front-- I find it to be very secure. I don't ever remember it not being so. Sometimes, you need to giggle the tip of the flap around slightly so that the stubs in the magnet fall into the holes in the base... it will snap, and feel very solid this way.

By the way-- I have experimented before with putting an "eXo-ed" iPod into the Booq. The fit is great-- it obviously doesn't slide around the slightest bit. When doing so, the flip cover does not attach very nicely, unless you manually stretch it over. However, with a fit that secure, and the screen covered, the flip isn't really as necessary.

Yeah, I played with it all night and at work this morning and I think the leather stretched out a bit. When I first got it, the flap was a hair too short and I had to pull it down tight to make the magnetic snaps match up. Now it's a bit looser. I like this case a LOT!

I am thinking of getting an eXo case for it as well. Which model eXo (iskin, xskin, etc?) do you use with it, Jerrod?

Ehh... I tried that a _long_ time ago (and may have even been the person you read that from) ;), so it would have had to have been my regular iSkin eXo 1. (The discontinued model on www.iskin.com, or the exo still available from Lajo.)

Nifty. I'll have to get at least one of them I guess.

You know, I was just thnking about the ONE thing that could make this case even better. That would be the integration of the "soft switch" remote technology sort of along the top edge of the case. That way, you could pause or change the volume of the iPod with the flap closed. It's a little bit of a hassle to flip the flap, rotate the case or take it off your belt completely to do that.

Maybe someone will make a "sport" case that has the soft switch technology on the face of the case.

Just a thought.

Again, I love this case. haha

I think this is the greatest case out there. I have the Booq nappa case and I use it with a clear Jam Jacket. The protection provided is substantial and my iPod has survived a hard fall in a parking lot with no scratches and no damage at all.

i have two iskins (frost/ice? and asphalt) for a 30Gb 3G that i don't use since the Booq is still so much better for me - i actually only got them as they were going 2 for the price of one and thought that i would like them, but i must be one of those few people that doesn't.

if you're willing to make me a reasonable offer i can send you one, (or both if you really want!?) everything is included, though i would like to keep on of the maclear cases.
