I wanted a jeweled case for my beloved iPod, but I couldn't find one I liked so I just made one out of a Speck case. :)

A tad tacky don't you think? They look like pieces of plastic...

:) Some might call it tacky - that's just me, a little flashy when I can afford to be... I work a straightlaced job in a suit everyday and I am *not* a suit person! :) But it's colorful and sparkly and that's what I was looking for.

BTW, I got two Speck cases... one I am keeping "plain" as the cases really do look sweet on their own. This one is for special occasions. ;)

Are they real precious stones, or jewels?

rock on dawn, your case makes you happy and reminds you of something about yourself that you don't want to let go of, so i applaud you for the love and pride you put into your case

Neato! I like it. It's different and unique. :)

I don't know if I'd walk around EVERYDAY with that case, but I'd bring it out to brighten up my day or if I'm in a "showy" mood. ;)

But how do you use the touch wheel with the jewels directly on it?

:) No, they aren't real jewels, just acrylic. They do sparkle a bit more in real life than in the pictures, but the overall effect is probably a bit zanier than most people care for, I guess. That's alright, it works for me, and I do appreciate the feedback.

As far as using the wheel, the jewels are not directly on the wheel itself, they are on the wheel cover. The case allows you to flip the cover back to create a stand if you want to, so when it is standing up the wheel is uncovered. When I play it in the car, I just set it to the right volume and then close the wheel cover. As cases for the 3G go, this one is very durable. I have been pleased with the Speck flip case, which is why I got two. :)
