I'd like to install my iPod on the front of a flip down single DIN, but I've only got about 1.5" to work with so the cover closes. The idea is to be able to take the iPod off and flip the cover closed, conceling everything. Are there any other docks made that are smaller than the one that comes with the most recent 40G?

Sorry for not being all that specific, but basically I wanted to know if there were any smaller docks, which there doesn't seem to be.

On my DIN pocket, there is a door that flips down and I wanted to mount a dock on it. So I could put the iPod in the pocket when I'm not using it and close the door; open the door and put it onto the dock for use.

Any links to tutorials or anything on taking the dock apart? I'm not sure I'd want to do that anyway but I'd like to see how to do it.

Just pry off the plastic cover with a screwdriver. Worked for me.

'04 Subaru Forester, but the DIN pocket is really the thing in question here. I'm not even sure I'm going to go through with it, since modding the dock is permanent and would set me back a few bills.
