iPod starts playing by itself

I have my iPod (4G 40gb) connected to my car stereo through an auxiliary wire in the back of my cd player. When I get out of the car I pause the iPod so when I come back I can pick things up where I left off. Sometimes when I go back out I notice it had started playing all by itself and has changed play lists. For example, today after I got off of work I went out there and it was on song 13 of the "My Top Rated" play list. I wasn't even listening to that play list... This is starting to get annoying. Any suggestions on why it's doing this? Am I the only one with this problem?

Why did this get moved here? This is a problem with my iPod, not an in-car solution. I already have it hooked up in the car. I was explaining how it was hooked up to give background about the conditions it's in.

do you have the alarm clock enabled? go to extras>clock>alarm clock and make sure it's turned off.

other than that the only thing i can think of is something bumped into it, which is probably unlikely. but make sure it's locked when you're not using it.

By god you???re a genius! I feel re.tarded now. I figured once the alarm when off it was off, but I guess it just waits 24 hours and goes off again. Thanks for the help.

heh no problem. every saturday i remember i forgot to turn off the alarm :)

I use it mon-fri as my alarm clock and usually forget to turn it off for the weekend
