Im looking at getting either these (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=MDRV300&Dept=pa&CategoryName=pa_Headphones_CDSeriesStudioMonitor) or these (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=MDRV500DJ&Dept=pa&CategoryName=pa_Headphones_CDSeriesStudioMonitor) . I was wondering if these headphones, since bigger and more powerful, would drain a lot of battery from the iPod? I've heard they do but i wasnt sure about it.

Personally, I use these http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00001WRSJ/002-9509252-6877607?v=glance

I would recommend them over the ones you're looking at. The quality of the sound will make you toss out your ear buds. They can usually be found for about $90 shipped online or at Fry's. Secondly, I haven't noticed any battery life issues using these with my 40G 4G. I've been getting a solid 10 hours of battery life without even draining the battery.

iWould recommend this Panasonic one right here

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Panasonic-Traditional-Headphones--RP-HT355-/sem/rpsm/oid/15099/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

Free shipping from Circuit City, when iBought it, it shipped the day after, and two days after, iGot these piece. It sounds great, and if you burn these things real well, they would sound better. And for under 30bux, you cant go wrong with these set.

I'd third Edward and kauffee.

The MDR-V300DJ are really bad, and the MDR-V500DJ extend the word crap to a new dimension. The V500DJ are the only headphones that I've actually thrown away while virtually new. The V700DJ are the only V-DJ series phone which doesn't suck, but they aren't masterpieces either.

If your budget doesn't go that far and you need something closed, try the Sennheiser PX200. It is considerably better than the V300DJ... and more portable to boot.

Doesn't the 15-ft cable bother you?
