Is there any way of moving files or renaming folders and NOT then having to remake the MC9 playlists containing these songs because they then can't find the songs?

Are you moving the songs from w/in MC9? If you're doing it outside of MC9 then it won't find them. But if you're doing it from w/in MC9 through the Rename Files from Properties feature, playlists shouldn't be effected.
I know my smartlists aren't.
As a rule I never move songs/folders that contain my tunes outside of MC9. Unless of course I haven't imported them into MC9 yet.

Thanks Adam. Does MC9 live in your head, or do you climb into it on a regular basis? Must be very organised in there, either way.
Ooh boy, I'm doing everthing I can not to pounce on that one...It's tough, I'm sweating, my heart's pounding, but I.....must......keep.....under......control......: D

Actually Palazzo, I didn't know about the dragging and dropping in the little window. :rolleyes:
I haven't played w/the Action window that much. Is that what you're referring to? The one in the lower left-hand corner?
Teach me oh wise one.

In the window where the playlists live, I scrolled down to find my C drive and the folders where I keep my MP3s, did a test drag'n'drop and lo - the music library kept track of what I was doing.
So, I amalgamated the folders and the playlists automatically adjusted to take account of the moving.
Magic.

OK, got it. You can also do it in Folder View. Just played around with it.
If you expand the Media Library>Audio>Disk Location you'll see yoru songs organized by the folders they are in. You can move them that way too. Drag n' Drop.
Me, I just use the Rename from Properties method since I like mine organized based on the tags I enter...
