Which model did you want? I'd consider doing it, but $185 is way too low if you're talking about the 1GB model. The 1GB model is $150, plus tax and shipping. You'd then have to add on the $35 on top of that. I'd guess:

$149.99 + tax (8.25%) = $162.36

Shipping to UK = approx. $18.00

$35 "service" fee

Grand total: $215.36

okay, so the ipods are on preorder, dooes anyone know when they will be able to pick one up?

Try the UK Apple store, you can save a lot of anxiety for under 100 quids for the 1 Gig. That's about $186.
