I have the Proclip dashboard mount (with a quick disconnect clip for moving it between two cars). I like the way it works but I DON'T like the fact that I have to remove my iPod from its case to use the holder.

Any body use this device? I have ordered one and it seems like it will fit the bill (if I can figure out how to adapt it to the Proclip dash mount)

From the look of it you can modify it to the proclip vehicle mount.

About the reverse of what you want to do, I have two proclip device mounts connected to an arkon mounting arm through a hand made mount. Hobby stores have lots of options, if you have to make one. So I know these mounts are pretty flexible...

I received the Freeway PDA holder Friday. It works like a charm - I can now put my iPod in the holder without removing it from its case. Next purchase - an iSkin with screen and click wheel protection.

PVR1, what did you have to do in order to get it to work with the proclip mount?

I was looking at the Bracketron XM or Delphi mount today for my iPod. I cut a bracket out of 2" aluminum stock to fit my Countour Showcase belt clip so I can leave it in the case in my car. I am trying to find a good way to mount it to the dash so I can move it between cars. The Bracketron XM kit looks like it would work well for the price ($14.99).

Not much, really. I attached the quick release mount to the Freeway bracket with the screws supplied with the Proclip mount and then just clipped the Freeway holder on to it. I know others have superglued the mounts together but I find it is secure enough without doing this. It is a bit bulkier than the Proclip mount but not much.

Here's a pic of the mount

Any idea if the freeway will hold an iPod mini? I've got a 20gb 4G but Chris has a mini. It'd be nice to have just one mount for either unit.

I too needed a car mount that would allow me to leave my bulky case (marware convertable) on my ipod. The Universal Cell Phone Cradle sold at Verizon stores is the only I could find that fits. I removed the foam pads from the insides of the holder (very simple to do...under a minute) and now have the perfect holder for me. It even has a spot at the bottom that fits your dock connector, as verizon phones have a relatively wide charger. They had options for mounting on a dash or to a vent. I reccommend that anyone looking for a mount big enough for a thick ipod case try this.
