Hey everyone. Brand new to the iPOD and to the forums. Please forgive me if this topic has been covered somewhere else, but my searches yielded nothing that resembles my issue. I have a 15GB iPOD with which I am experiencing some issues when charging the battery. When I leave the device on the AC power charger overnight and look at it the next morning the iPOD has stopped charging because it thinks the battery is full, however when removing it from the charger, the battery indicator indicates only about 45% to 50% battery life. I then put it back on the charger and it begins recharging again. Does anyone know what would cause my iPOD to behave this way?

I have also tried charging via the 6 pin firewire cable overnight with the same results. Pardon my ignorance if this is something I should have seen somewhere else....and thanks for any help.

Have you played it for a while after charging?

The ipods battery is sketchy at best, and will show you anything from 50% to 80% full after a charge. But, once you play for a while, it fills up to 100%.
I also noticed my (15g 3G) ipod's battery meter got a little bit better after updating to the most recent version.

I have a 15GB 3G iPod and I have noticed the same thing. But as 'mndtrp' noted, once I start playing songs, the meter jumps to 100%.
