Been using Shure E2's for about 3 months now.

Quite recently, I have been getting the age old problem of one channel frequently cutting in and out. I have to twist the headphone connection, tilt my ipod etc. etc. It's very annoying.

I've come to the conclusion (without a large amount of research done), that it is caused by the cold. As it started when tempertaures started to drop here in chilly London. And the problem only occurs outdoors, indoors it is fine.

Can anyone suggest a way to fix this problem, or has anyone else experienced this? My iPod has been fine with every other headphone I have tried, so it's a bit shocking that when I fork out the ca$h for a decent pair they go wrong.

thanks again to the lounge

I wouldn't have thought it was the cold that did it, more likely a manufacturing defect which manifested itself over the time you have had them. I use mine on the way to uni every day in the bitter cold yet they seem to work fine. Perhaps you should contact shure about it? It could be a known issue.

I'll give them a call. But I still recon the cold has something to do with it. Maybe it's a defect which is brought out by the cold.

I live in Canada and this morning it was -25 celcius and the windchill made it almost -40 celcius and the my shure e2c's still worked fine.

If it's happening at the plug end, I'd say you've got old stock E2c. Contact Shure for a replacement.

I had the same problem. Shure wouldn't replace them so I had to cut off the cord and attach a new one.

I love my E2c but sadly after 6 months of use the left ear stop working. Thankfully I save the reciept and register them (which I rarely do) and sure enough they sent me a new pair today, free of charge.
