My iPod is stuck in hold no matter if I turn it off or not, the lock symbol is still there. Any suggestions?

try sliding the hold switch to the off position as hard as you can...or slide it to on, and see if there's something like a granule or something that is stuck...if else, then i think that all you can do is send it in for repair or maybe let the battery run out and then turn the hold switch off, on, off then charge and do a reboot holding the mid button and menu together for like 5 sec. hope this helps!
