First off, thanks for any help you can provide.
I deleted a song I purchased from Itunes. It is on my Ipod but I assume that when I connect my Ipod it will be erased there too. What's the best way to get the song from the ipod back into itunes?
Also,
Is there a way to extract songs from my ipod without using itunes (like explorer)?
THanks again,
Bose

You can use this app (http://www.yamipod.com) to import/export songs. You can go into the folders and remove the songs from the iPod back to your HD. They are numbered F00, F01 etc.

doesn't songs till deleted off itunes exist in a different file folder somewhere like the itunes directory. i was thinking instead of the hassle of installing that program, you could just go import file and import the file location of that song on the itunes directory if you bought if from itunes or whereever itunes stores the songs that you buy. because, unless its a temp file, its not going to just disappear once you delete it from itunes.

After deleting the song in iTunes, did you empty your XP Recycle Bin? If not, drag the file from your recycle bin back to the library entry in iTunes, and it will be restored. Just did that myself, and I'm also running XP Pro.
Edited to add...you will actually want to put it back somewhere in your music directory for this to be permanent. If you just leave the file in your recycle bin and later empty it, it'll be lost. So use Explorer to move the file into your usual music directory structure, and then drag the file into iTunes.

Great advice all. Didn't even think of the Recycle bin.
