I just got a pair of Sony EX51s. I like the sound, and for me the isolation is like goldilocks: not too much, not too little. They are comfortable with the medium sized sleeves. But, the assymetrical cord is really bugging me. The left plug gets pulled loose very easily. I could go to the large sleeves for a tighter fit, but they are somewhat less comfortable.

Any suggestions?

Maybe I'll return them and get a pair of E2cs. I am concerned about too much isolation with the Shures

Try using a shirt clip of some sort for them. It'll reduce the microphonics but quite a bit and will also keep them from yanking down on one side. I actually use the clip that goes with the ER-6i's. (Surprisingly, I don't use the clip with the actual 6i's that often, though.) I find it works quite well. If you don't want to purchase one, you can easily find another alternative.

(The above link is to the identical ER-6 clip, just to give you an idea of what it looks like. I linked to the ER-6 because it's black and not white, so if you wanted to order one, it will match better.)
