IPOD+HP with MAC OSX

Newbie here. Sorry if this question is repetitive. I just got the IPOD+HP as a gift. I haven't opened the box yet so I can still return it. Does anyone know if I can use it on my Mac ...OSX? Or how I can do this?

probably ... because all new ipods (4g) which the hpods are, are cross compatible via mac+pc...so once you put the cd into the mac, and plug the hpod in, it should format your hpod to mac-compatible..then your set to go. hope this helps

The HP iPod is just the Apple iPod with the HP logo on it. Everything else is exactly the same, including system compatibility.

I've got the same problem, and have tried everything I could think of to make my brand-new, waiting-to-be-used iPod + HP readable on my Mac OS X. I even tried following what the iPod + HP Users Guide says about using the iPod + HP on a Mac (read pg 51-52 of the iPod + HP Users Guide).

However, no matter how I approach it, (whether by following the manual's instructions or trying to work around them) I can't seem to open the install.exe file on the disc that came with my iPod or the install.exe file that I downloaded per HP's User Guide.

Has anyone actually bought a brand-new iPod + HP and made it work on Mac OS X succesfully? If so, what steps are necessary?

Try downloading the updater for the normal iPod off of Apple's website.

You have the .exe, which is a windows executable file.

You need to download the Mac version off of the HP site.
