so I've decided to convert all of my mp3s to aac format (to save space). I'm using easy cd-da extractor 6.0, or more specifically: easy audio file convertor (which comes with the extractor). This program has never let me down before, but this is the first version which converts to aac.
First of all, it doesnt convert direct to a m4a file, it's either aac (which is mpeg2) or mp4 (mpeg4)....anywho, I dont have a clue about this stuff (the same it seems as a lot of people on this forum) so I try both, at 128kbs, change the extension to m4a (the only aac extension ephpod will support) upload them on my ipod.... Except ephpod tells me the bitrate is just 16kbs!!! Even though the file size and quality is clearly 128kbs! The ipod wont play the songs, they're there, but nothing happens when I press play!
What is a man to do?? Is there any way to change the bitrate it is recognised as? Anyway to get of this stupid little problem which is preventing my tunes from playing?
I also noticed that ephpod uploaded the files very quickly, so it might have been uploading just 16kb out of every 128kb.
