Hi,

I intend to update the ID Tags of my mp3 files with a 3rd party program (TheGodFather). Will iTunes realise that the tags have been changed and auto sync?

Best,

I have the same question =)

So far it seems kinda finnicky....i'm updated my id3v2 tags with a 3rd party product...and then re-added the file to iTunes...for whatever reason...iTunes only recognizes 20 of the 23 files in that folder. It only 'sees' the missing files when I play them directly from windows explorer.

Also... if I add a folder to iTunes and later add new songs to that folder....will iTunes automatically update to show the new songs?

Thanks everyone!:)
code.

iTunes sometimes has problems with changes made to files by third-party tag programs. iTunes is designed for you to do all of your tagging within iTunes, and does not have the ability to display made outside of iTunes. If you change the tags using a different program, the file needs to be reimported in order for iTunes to recognize it.

In answer to the 2nd question, iTunes will not "update" when new files are added to a song folder. You need to add your songs using the iTunes interface and not the file tree structure on your hard drive.
