Are there any aux adapters out there that use the head unit disc selector function to change playlists (like the BMW adater) other than the Monster Icruze? I haven't seen any of the other adpaters like Icelink or Ipod2car mention it on their sites but it seems like a really desirable feature.

ummm when I look at the ipod2car site it DOES mention it....

http://peripheralelectronics.com/ipod2car/index.shtml

And so does the IceLink....

There's the new Griffin "smart deck"

Maybe I misunderstood your question?

Also there is one (which MIGHT just be ipod2car) on the www.installer.com site...

or the logjam iste

browse around - there are tons of options

Thanks for the reply.

I'm sorry, I still don't see it.
Ipod2car:
"You will then have the following controls available to you.
*You can change Next track, Previous track, Fast Forward & Fast rewind "
Doesn't mention using playlists. Please tell me where it's at.

Icelink:
OK, I checked again and do not see that function for the Icelink 1.1, you can change playlists using the ipod ityself; but the Icelink Plus has it. Although they don't make the Icelink Plus for GM and say the 1.1 is only for 2003+. damn.

Does the smartdeck actually allow you to change playlists on the Ipod? I can't look it up. Griffins website isn't working.

I would really like to get a more professional setup than I have now with a modulator. But if I'm spending 200+ and only have the functions of pause, previous song, next song, and still have to use the ipod to change playlists, I'll just spend $80 and get an aux adapter that doesn't disable my cd changer.

Sorry - Im new to this stuff.... just got the iPod last week...

As far as I can tell - the IceLink does, but wont work for you as per yer note above.

The Smart Deck appears to only do next and previous...

Im still leaning towards IceLink... I have an old MBus Alpine and thien I can set up the iPod on a tall "stalk" and pretend is 1988 all over again and I have a CD changer in my car.... except its ALOT more CDs and the changer IS the control panel....
