Just last night I started having problems syncing my ipod. I have a 20 GB G3 ipod (running version 2.2 of the software), Windows XP, and MMJB 8.2. When I start MMJB and click on the "send to portable" button, the correct window pops up, but it keeps telling me to "attach and power on my portable device." The ipod is in the dock and turned on, but MMJB doesn't seem to realize this. The "sync" button doesn't become "active"--the only thing I can click on is the "options" button which doesn't help.
I haven't had a problem syncing since I got the ipod back in 2003. This problem didn't arise until last night after I downloaded some songs in windows media file format, then burned them to a cd and ripped them to the computer in mp3 format. Could that have caused the problem? Any other thoughts? Thanks.
