1. USE PUNCTUATION.
2. Bearshare is legal to the point where you download copyrighted material.

as long as you make a promise to yourself to delete the song when you are truly finished with it (it could be any length of time) then I don't see any legal problems that could arise

Care to explain how it's not illegal to download copyrighted material if you delete it?

Copyright infringement and Illegality are different aren't they, or wouldn't the FBI be going after music downloaders, and not high priced lawyers who intimidate people into making settlements?

Copyright infringement is illegal. I don't think the FBI would do anything about this, considering it's 'just' people downloading music. When was the last time you saw an FBI agent get called in for stealing a car? The lawyers (actually on behalf of the RIAA) are doing it not so much to intimidate people into making settlements, but intimidate everyone else into not downloading.
And, technically, no one has been busted for downloading, it's the uploading in mass quantities that are getting people in trouble. That's not to say the RIAA won't start hitting the downloaders too, but it hasn't happened yet.
