First - When I connect my ipod to my dock it loads fine and itunes opens and everything is super. I have it set on manual mode because I like it better. I am just wondering if it is possible to play music through the dock while it is connected to my computer. What I mean is...Whenever I unmount my iPod it says that it is safe to be removed. However, I don't want to remove it...I want to leave it in the dock and play it. I can't seem to get it off that checkmark screen. Please don't tell me I have to be in automatic mode.

Also, the second problem is similar to another post on this board. Whenever I plug in my ipod to the dock. It says "USB device not recognized" in the bottom corner. I'm assuming it was just a problem with installation. (I'm using Windows XP btw). Just wondering if there's anything I can do to solve this (I have uninstalled and reinstalled)

go into iTunes, and turn off Disk Mode and you can use it while it's in the dock

I use XP too and get the same bubble come up, but it goes away and it causes no harm

You can use it in the dock, just as long as its unmounted.

I'm unable to find the option "Disk Mode" to turn it off. Where is it? And I don't want to sound stupid but what do you mean by "Unmounted"?
