Software to insert correct Genre to files

Is there a program that looks at your files ( mp3 or Itunes )

And can determine based on Artist the genre and insert the correct information.

It is rather time consuming to do piece meal.

If anyone finds software to do this, I'm interested! It definently is a pain to type it all in by hand. Sometimes I don't know what genre to put stuff under, and having to look it up on Amazon isn't much fun.

I find that I use genres more for my smart playlists. What someone would think is Rock, my be my Metal.

Put them to what you would like them to be. Hell, if you want to listen to your Styx album with your death metal albums, make Styx's genre death metal.



But no, I have not found a program that will do it for you.

Sorry for the double post up there, my interent got a bit bogged down and i hit the back button or something.

That's a really good point mndtrp, I hadn't thought of it that way. I don't even really know what genre some of my music should be, so most of it is Rock or Alternative, whatever I want it to be. Good point...
