I cannot get my iPod to charge.
I have plugged my iPod G3 into my Toshiba Laptop using a USB cable and Sendstation Pocket dock Combo, but it is not charging up.
What should I do?

Does the lightning bolt appear (meaning it's plugged in?) it's possible the laptop doesn't have the correct powered ports. Does you laptop have a six pin firewire port anywhere on it?

It does not seem to charge at all. I am using the Sendstation because my Laptop (PC) only has USB. The iPod charges fine on a Mac/Firewire.
I don't think that the PC recognises the iPod. Do you think this is the problem, and if so, how do I get recognition.

I have a pocketdock, the combo usb+firewire variety, and it charges my ipod20/4g just fine using either usb or firewire. Granted, the only testing I've done is from a PCI firewire card and a laptop motherboard usb1.1 port.
Mine does appear to the computer when connected. If yours doesn't then something's wrong. It could be the usb port on the PC, the usb cable, the pocketdock or the ipod itself.
See if using another PC will charge, it should.

From what I've read here, the 3rd gen iPods cannot charge from USB. I think that's the answer to your problem.
