My case does not have a screen protector, so I made one out of the plastic packaging the case came in. Bad idea. The plastic wouldn't stay in place under the case and it kept sliding around, effectively scratching up the screen.
So now I've got 2 days with no screen protector, and despite being in an otherwise empty pocket of my jeans, the iPod's screen still manages to get scratched.
How can I make a useful screen protector?

Buy the iPoDonut set.
EDIT: Or buy some PDA screen protecters.

Update:
I took the plastic that the iPod was packaged in, wrapped it really tightly around it, and cut holes for the dock connector, headphone jack and hold switch. Then I put it into my silicone sleeve-case-type-thing.
Looks relatively protected now. The only downside is it says "Don't Steal Music" in 4 languages over top of the click wheel. Oh well, you can't win em all :P

I wonder if saran wrap would do anything...

It would probably tear too easily. The plastic that the iPod comes packaged in is really strong, but still very thin.

Use the laminate stuff? You know how you laminate pictures and you have the left over plastic, use some of that.
