When i baought my ipod, did it come with an automtic 1 year warranty (i got it off of apple.com) or did i have to pay extra for it, please someone help me, and lets pray i dont have to get a new one, that would suck a lot.

Hi,
yes your ipod has a one year warranty, from date of first recorded purchase - it's free to get replaced if beyond repair.
I seriously doubt that plugging your ipod into a foreign computer would fry the HD - have you tried a reset or restore?
What does the display show when you plug it into the AC adapter?

when i plug it in it has the apple sign, then a folder with an exclamation mark next to it. and from what i have seen while i wa slooking around this forum, that meens that the hard drive is busted... i know it doesnt make snese that that happend, and it ####es me off that t did, thanks for your help with the warranty, i think that i will make a trip to the apple store today, and see if they replace it, then i just have to go around and get my 8,000 songs back :-(

I'm a little confused about this. What if you get it from a reseller meaning Apple sold it to the reseller or a person who later decides to resell the unopened, unused iPod, but the reseller had it sitting in storage for only God knows how long, then you buy it and your warranty could be already up??
What if you get it as a gift ofr Xmas and the person could have brought it MONTHS in advance so your warranty is shrotened by months? I'm confused.
