View Full Version : My review and PICS of exo w/ screen protector

Ok guys, here it is:
I have been using the exo w/ screen protector for a few days now on my brand new 15g iPod. I'm coming from a 2nd gen. 10gb iPod that was pretty scratched up, both the backside and the screen. So I am very wary of scratches on my new 15g. That being said, after a few days of use, I removed the exo and screen protector to evaluate the ipod. NO SCRATCHES whatsoever. Still looks shiny, pristine, brand new. I LOVE IT!!!
The one thing you'll notice in the pics (hopefully) is that there are a couple of places on the screen when the protector is in place that have the wet look. I'm ok with it, as it's not noticeable at all. When you remove the screen protector, there is no noticeable trace of it being there at all. No marks on the screen. Another thing I want to mention is that the screen protector takes nothing away from the screen's resolution when turned on. It looks great.
I tried the screen protector on the speck skin and it fits nicely. Not as well as with the exo, but you could get away with it. One thing you'll notice from the pic is it makes the speck kind of bubble up near the four buttons. I definitely prefer the exo to the speck, although the speck is easier to use with the dock. The exo stretches easily enough so it's not difficult by any means to dock it. Plus the exo, in my opinion, provides fuller coverage.
I tried to take plenty of pics, but if someone wants something in particular, just let me know. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the exo, and I can't wait for my electra to get here! Enjoy.

Nice review. My maclear is totally different from yours.
Granted, I have the belt clip one, but...
1) My zipper goes around the bottom
2) My zipper doesn't go around as far
3) I have only 1 zipper pull
From lajo's website, it looks like you got the Zip Cable case, not the maclear for the ipod itself. Still, it looks like it fits well (perhaps it's a little bigger for use w/ the eXo)

My fault, I should have been more specific. The maclear you see in the pictures is the maclear 2, or the zip cable case. It is not the original maclear.
It does fit nicely over the exo. I use it for extra protection... I have even thrown my ipod in my backpack (GASP!... something I NEVER would have done previously!) with the maclear 2 on.

Wow, with the screen protector on the exo, it apparrently makes the ipod look like two dogs. One is asphalt and one is white frost.
...
I don't see any iPod pics, just dogs.

I think the maclear looks a little cheesy, This is just my opinion as someone who doesn't even own an iPod yet and stilll looking for accessories for something I plan to buy soon.

haha i always do that. except half the time i never buy the main product anyway. i did this with paintball for about 3 months (ie spend hours and hours researching guns and accessories for them down to misc upgrades and tweak, but never ever did buy a gun :p )

There is a little ridge along the screen protector that connects with the opening on the exo. Hope this makes sense!

Well... Actually... It is.

So, have the shipping problems been fixed? I'm looking to get a iPod and case soon. it looks like the eXo is the case for me, but I'm not sure about getting one because of all I've read here in this forum.

Wait a minute. In your other thread (Received exo iskin w/ screen protector) You said that Lajo gave you a free exo with a tester Maclear case. and now he's sending you another free eXo case?
I'm just about ready to order my iPod. I feel weird paying for a silicone case for it now. I may just go the Vaja route...
The new eXo color is a new approach on an artistic side, up to this point I have only seen cases with one color on the case, even my own have one uniform color even thought I have about 35 colors. Now I want to try some new looks, ones that have elements of controlled accidents, much like painting. Next week I will be looking for about more testers for this new look and will be posting a notice here. Once you have tested you may get a surprise knock at your door with an unannounced delivery from DHL of another case I am working on, it is just the way I am, I work from the gut. I appreciate people that give their time and opinions. They help me to evaluate my efforts.
