would i be able to exchange it for a new one from apple? i've had the ipod from about july of 2004 and i don't have reciepts or anything like that.

and yes i realize that they aren't the greatest earphones but im strapped for cash and dont have the money to get better ones anytime soon.

How do you register your iPod? I don't remember doing it, is it plausable to think that I did it right when I opened the box and installed it?

Yes, you might have registered it when you got it. iTunes asks if you would like to register your iPod when you first hook up your iPod. You can always check by going to www.apple.com/register . Then, just enter your account and you will see if it is registered.
