I have a limited taste in music, and I want to fill my iPod up with recorded standup comedy and audiobooks, as my friend has done. However, I am a cheapskate??? to clarify, I am a cheapskate who likes to stay on the right side of the law. Any place where I can get these things for free legally?

%99 of comedians worth listening to always release comedy cds, look around for their sites, find a comedian you like, and search his name! Good luck :D

Might I suggest your local public library. Mine has literally thousands of books on cd, and you can use itunes to encode them and put them on your ipod. My library lets you see the whole catalogue online and order them for delivery to your local branch. Check yours out.

ALso, check out the audible+audiobooks folder in the ipodlounge forum for excellent tutorials on how to do the whole process of encoding and using itunes to manage them.

music.download.com has some comedy. All free, all legal. I think it is independent people only. I got some comedy off of there. I don't think there are any full albums though.

Check out Attention Deficit Theater.
