EAC - album info

Hi there,

I have just started using EAC, and it seems to be ok. However, before I start ripping, I want to be able to obtain the album details from (freedb??) the online database. I have not been able to do this - the system connects, and then comes back with an error almost immediately.

I have a feeling this is because the internet connection in my house is shared between four PCs - my PC takes its feed from my flatmate.

Is there a solution to this?

PS, how long should EAC take to rip and encode an average length track at 192?? (just a very rough figure will do!)

I sometimes have trouble connecting to the server too, but it is only temporary. Check to see there isn't a firewall that is not letting you connect.

As foer encoding, LAME takes a very long time. So go put your feet up or take a nap or something...
