Will my shoddy Showcase mod allow iTrip use?

Hey, my brother-in-law bought me an iTrip for X-Mas and I have a contour showcase, which I enjoy using because it's super durable, but i was wondering if my little modification will allow iTrip use... I simply cut the top whole bigger.

that's actually a pretty good idea but don't cut out too much.

then just sand it down a bit with some upgrading grits of sandpaper and it should look like it came like that.

Surprisingly, the iPod is still firm inside the case, no movement at all.

Also, that picture was pre-sanded, but I've gone on to work on that. Oh yeah, i got a few scratches on my Showcase's clear plastic... anyway to clear that up (Possible the same stuff that takes scratches off the iPod?)


But anyways, you think there is enough clearance all around? Becuase I have no clue how much room the iTrip needs.

i want to do the exact same thing.. but too scared im going to ruin the case :(

Yeah, I was fearful as well... but I thought "well... if it works, I'm all good, but if I break the case, then I'll just find a different case."

And when I say "Different case" i mean, "Not another Showcase." It's heavy duty, but it's also super thick. I'd probably get a thinner case or maybe even those thin static protector sheets, seeing as how much I love a naked iPod.
