Case in dock

Hope this belongs here, my first 4g 40 will be here in a few days and I'm pumped to have the dock and everything, but from what I'm hearing I really need some sort of protection on the pod so it doesn't scratch and most skins don't fit in the dock. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I dont think the 4g comes with a dock. I know that doesnt answer your question but just a heads up.

When I ordered it, it said it did, the mini and the 20 doesn't, but I beleive the 40 does.

Sorry it seems that I remembered wrong. I just checked the review and it said the carrying case no longer comes with not the dock.

Yeah, I think I may just keep the dock aside and use the cable instead, probably better to it scratch free!

A dremel tool might be used to make it wider.

Has anyone tried putting the 4G 40 gig into a iPod Photo 40 or 60 gig dock? I have a Lajo skin on mine and it doesn't fit in the dock anymore (not the flip model). I should fit in the slightly bigger photo docks, right?
