Moving PC, but can fit Libaray on a server.

Ok so i am getting a new pc but i can fit my itunes libary can fit onto a work server and then i can just move it back over to my new pc.

Will this work?

will i need to install the ipod software into the new latop and set it up as the same name and drive letter then will it automatically find the liabary?

please help me. ive got about a week.

i have read that and all the comments and am still confused enough not to be 100% confident of doing this yet.

i have copied my entire itunes folder onto the server. if was to nuke and re do my pc, and then copy the itunes folder back over, would my ipod find it or can i re-set it up to the same place?

i really dont wanna do this until im know i am not gonan lose it.

any help would be well appreciated.
