Configuration:
3G iPod, Win Xp, Firewire card
Manual update.
All was working fine.
(just tried iPodAgent - maybe relevant)
Now -every time I connect the iPod, iTunes brings up the "iPod setup assistant".
(All the music and lists are recognized)
If I go to "iPod options" / OK -> "preferences not saved because iPod not found".
If I xfer music it seems OK - but when I try to eject -> "can't because it contains files in use by another app".
If I exit iTunes and re-enter I can eject - but the new music is not on the iPod.
Tried - "rebooting" iPod, rebooting PC, reinstalling iPod s/ware, no help.
I suspect the firewire interface - but am desperate for some knowledgable suggestions !
