i need an updater that works on windows 98

I just bought a used Ipod, it didn't come with any software. I am having trouble finding an updater for my Ipod. I unforunatley have windows 98 SE, which limits me to only certain updaters. I have tried 1.3, as recomended on this site, but it didn't work. Does anyone know of another updater that works with windows 98 SE? If so that'd help me alot. THANX!
