I received an iPod Mini today, and loaded the software on my laptop, put all of my music into iTunes, and plugged the iPod into my computer with the USB cable. Three hours later, I still have the 'Do not disconnect' notice on the iPod's screen. I don't have that much music - 250 songs tops. Why is it taking so long? Is there anything I can do?

You have to "eject" the iPod so it will allow disconnect..... everytime you hook-up the iPod to your PC it treats it as an external hard drive (basically)..... and thus you must tell the PC to stop using it so it is safe to disconnect. You can do this in iTunes by using the eject button on the bottom right of the screen.
